Mission of the Role
The Director of Business Development owns the journey from first conversation to signed SOW and ongoing account growth. You will bring net‑new clients to BabyBots, position us as a trusted transformation partner, and expand relationships into multi‑year programs.
You will sell:
- Real business outcomes, not software seats
- Roadmaps that change how companies operate
- Multi‑phase SOWs backed by working solutions
- Long‑term partnerships, not one‑off projects
This role is for a professional who wants to attach their reputation to meaningful work-where delivery excellence and honest selling matter more than slide decks.
What You Will Own
Building New Business
- Create and execute a go‑to‑market strategy to win new logos in industrial, telecom, distribution, and ERP‑centric organizations
- Generate 8–10 qualified discovery meetings per month from your own pipeline
- Activate partner relationships across Microsoft and integration ecosystems
- Grow existing accounts into multi‑initiative programs
Executive Discovery
- Lead conversations with CIO, COO, Finance, and Operations leaders
- Translate operational pain into measurable ROI
- Map stakeholders, systems, and data dependencies
- Position phased engagements that deliver early wins
Deal Leadership
- Shape SOW structure and commercial strategy
- Collaborate with founder on architecture and estimating
- Own proposals, procurement, negotiation, and close plans
- Maintain disciplined forecasting
Client Stewardship
- Represent BabyBots with integrity and transparency
- Set accurate expectations on scope and outcomes
- Ensure clean handoff to delivery
- Build relationships that last years, not quarters
Boundaries
You Own: sourcing leads, discovery, proposals, negotiation, closing, and expansion.
You Partner On: solution design, pricing strategy, executive alignment.
You Do Not Own: estimating hours, technical architecture, project management, or delivery.
Success Looks Like
- 8+ qualified meetings per month
- 3 proposals per month
- 1–2 closed deals per month
- 15%+ expansion in existing accounts
- Reliable pipeline you control
Who We’re Looking For
Required
- 5+ years selling professional services or transformation programs
- Proven ability to source and close $50k–$500k+ engagements
- Experience running executive discovery independently
- Familiarity with Microsoft, ERP, RPA, analytics, or integration
- Relationships you can activate in the first 60 days
Preferred
- Experience with Power Platform, Azure, NetSuite, or integration services
- Background in manufacturing, distribution, telecom, or field services
- Partner‑led selling within Microsoft or ERP ecosystems
